It's only been a week since the show, and it finally hit me. I'm getting so sad because I realized that it's all over. After all these months, we've worked so hard and spent so much time together. We put on an amazing show, but I have to say, "Goodbye," to the "Production of 2005" and my loving senior friends. )-; On a good note, our dance was commented in "The Review," UD school newspaper, as a crowd favorite! (Makes me smile) (-; Well, to all of you out there, "Dance like no ones watching...Just Dance!" Once again, till next year, and watch out for The Production of 2006!

I could not have asked for a better two nights of performances. Everything went amazing!!! I loved it! Everyone loved it! People were screaming and cheering during the dance and I got so many compliments after the show. "The Production of 2005," the name of our dance, was a success! All the long and hard practices were well worth it. I will try to get a video of the performance up, once I recieve the DVD. I want to thank everyone for coming out and supporting us. Well, so sad to see it all end, but I could not have asked for a better ending to another great year of DRDC! Till next year! (-;

Company Run Through!

Today is our company run through, where we get to see everyone's dance in the show order. It was amazing! Every one in the DRDC has put such great effort these past few months, and it really shows through their dances. There are many dances and different styles for everyone. Theres a few ballet, tap, jazz, kick-line, and hip hop. I really hope everyone can make it out to the show. It's this Friday and Saturday, so take your pic, but a ticket in Trabant or even on Ticketmaster. (Search under University of Delaware). They are $5 for students and $8 for everyone else. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!!!!! (-;

Three to the rescue!

I finally found a guy. I asked my friend, "Three" (his name is Ernesto, but he's the III) and he agreed to dance for me. I'm very excited, but I know how hard he is going to have to work. Especially, since everyone has been practicin for the past two months, he's going to have one week! YIKES!!!! But he is amazing, and I know this will all work. Keep your fingers crossed for me! (-;

I just found out today at practice that two of my guy dancers got hurt. One was doing a back flip and broke his ankle and the other got hurt playing basketball. I know its going to be hard to find one, so we're willing to settle for one. Now, I have to find one of my friends and teach him everything in one week!!!!!!! This is going to be so stressful.

Practice, practice, practice!

Now that we only have two practices left, all we do is practice, practice, practice. We've choreogrpahed pretty much everything and are working out the little glitches such as some positioning. We are trying to make things look so perfect and have our dancers as comfortable as possible. It is very important to have your dancers know the moves and what they are going to do next without even thinking. Therefore, the dance looks so smooth and natural. The shows almost here and it's very tiring and stressful, but I'm really glad things are coming together so well.

Jesus Walks with them!!!

Last night, we learned the last dance of our ten minute production - "Jesus Walks," by Kanye West. It is a very small part of the dance, however, it'll be a great part of it as well. I don't want to give away any secrets, but let's just say, "There's nothing better than makin a surprise entrance." (-; In addition, we began to give everyone their specific spots during transitions. From my past experience, I truly believe, **Transition is a key to make a smooth production.** Since our dance is long, everything has to be perfect and "smooth" to make it successful and entertaining for the audience. Two weeks left till the show... HERE WE COME!!! (-:

WE'RE BAACCKK!!!!!!

After a great spring break vacation, it's great to back in the studio. Basically, all we had to do was quickly run through everything since we had two weeks off. At first it was a little slow because you could tell everyone forgot some steps, even myself, but it was nothing serious! (-; I'm emphasized before, we have many great dancers and they pick up so quickly. It's really exciting to get back to work. From here on till the show, it's going to be long, vigorous practices because we only have three weeks left!!!!

Rehearse, Rehearse, Rehearse!!

Tonight was all about rehearsing!!! We just continued to go over the dances we previously knew and video taped them. I'm debating whether or not to put the videos up on the blog, but I don't want to ruin any surprises for the show... (-; However, one thing we did choreograph tonight is this amazing ripple effect in "Drop." I've watched it like twenty times tonight after uploading it onto my computer. (-: This was a great practice to have before spring break. I just hope they all remember it when they get back. Overall, the dances look amazing and things are going along very well. I'm so excited for the show!!!!!!!

DROPPP!!!!!!!!

Today was crazy!!! My mind was everywhere but at dance rehearsal and I thought everyone was going to get mad at me. I choreographed "Drop" by Timbaland, which is a very fast pace dance song if you've never heard it. It is very difficult and hard to put everything together. What I did was, I broke the 15 of us into three groups. It's like constant entertainment and spontaneous because each group is doing different styles of hip hop. The first is like fast, pop-lock. The second is what I call the "Shakers." Finally, the last is choreoraphed moves. This will be a really exciting song to see when everything falls together. Can't wait!!!

My Goodies!!!!

Unfortunately, I was not able to make it to tonight's rehearsal due to certain circumstances. However, I did speak with Glenn and he said it was a handful. Hands down, he thinks it was the hardest song for the girls to learn. Every single beat and note had a different dance move, which I think will look incredible for an end result. Therefore, they were only able to get through half of it, but it's ok because these girls are amazing! Well, we decided to split these girls in half for this part so the other half can get dressed for "Yeah!" Also, this will be the first time that the guys get a breather, so great thing for the guys! Note: Always try to find time to catch a breather especially in a ten minute performance. (-: Stay tuned for next week, "Drop," by Timbaland.

You Can Dust If Off and TRY AGAIN!!!!

After last week's perfect practice, I've been looking forward to tonight. We will be doing "Try Again," by Aaliyah, which will be one of the videos projected in the background if we are able to. It's going to be a neat feature because we will be dancing in synchronization with the real dancers and Aaliyah. To make it go perfectly with the video, we've been debating whether we should split the girls in half because there are too many. Therefore, we ended up just teaching everyone just in case. In the end, it worked out for the best because we're probably going to use everyone because it looked so amazing! Just a note if you come to the show, the breakdown is my favorite part for "Try Again" because it shows a lot of attitude and it is sooo cool. (-: Next week is GOODIES by Ciara!!!

FIRST PRACTICE!!!!

Today is our first practice for the 2005 DRDC show! This production is incredible! We have an amazing mix of about seven songs, which will keep the audience up in their seats. In addition, we have put together a talented, devoted group for this performance. There are 11 girls and 5 guys (pending). Glenn Jordi and I have put a lot of hard work into this and couldn't wait to get started. Today, we taught them the choreography to "Caught Up" by Usher. As difficult as the dance is, it amazed me how smoothly things went today. This group we are working with is soooo good. (-;

The Delaware Repertory Dance Co. (DRDC) is a talented, diverse dance club at UDel. We put a lot of time and hard work for the big show in April. I am a choreographer, so it gives me an opportunity to use my creativity and dancing talent to good use (from what I hear). Hope you all can make it to the show!
